Southfield Youth Soccer League is a 501c3, non-profit organization. Our league is run entirely by volunteers. We are guided by parents whose first love is their children. Some of us have a background in soccer, but we all have a love for the game; we all want to provide our children an environment rich in support, with the opportunity to grow their skill and desire to play soccer.
We are dedicated to supporting and developing young players in the City of Southfield and surrounding communities, as they progress through their years toward high school and beyond. Southfield residency is not a requirement, so children from surrounding communities are welcome to participate.
Working with Southfield Public Schools and the City of Southfield Parks and Recreation Department, we operate divisions and teams from ages 3 1/2 to 14.
We practice and play at various elementary and middle schools in Southfield. We also utilize Bedford, Miller, Pebblecreek and Catalpa Parks.
Our Kiddie Kickers players play in house teams. Our U6 - U14 teams play in an Inter-City league. Those teams currently play against teams from Berkley, Royal Oak, Madison Heights and other surrounding communities.
We also sponsor select travel teams playing in the MYSL. These teams play at a more competitive level, traveling to half of their games in areas as far away as Flint or Grosse Pointe.
Our primary seasons are outdoors in the Fall (Sept. - Oct/Nov) and in the Spring (April - June). We also have a few teams who play indoor soocer over the winter months.
Our League is associated with the Michigan State Youth Soccer Association MSYSA) and consequently affiliated with the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA), the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and the Federacion Internacional de Football Associations (FIFA).
