Jugglers Club
It is our hope, with the introduction of the Juggling Club that we will encourage players to practice on their own more, improve their techniques and skills and just have more fun with a soccer ball than ever thought imaginable!
The VSYSL Jugglers Club is designed to promote, encourage and challenge our players to spend more of their free time juggling. We want to encourage our young players to make juggling a habit because…
Players develop better overall ball manipulation skills. Players develop coordination, balance, reaction speed, and learn to use both feet etc. Players can set and achieve goals (personal juggling record) and also develop good work/practice habits and determination to reach those goals. Have more fun with a soccer ball than they ever thought imaginable!
Players should practice juggling on their own and when they are ready to demonstrate it, arrange a time with any VSYSL coach so he or she can count for them.
Here are the Rules:
All juggles must be done in front of a coach or assistant coach Once the ball touches the ground the count ends No using your hands/arms!
The coach or assistant coach should then email the webmaster at vsyslweb@southfieldsoccer.org. Please include the players name, age, team and number of juggles. We will post the names as first initial and full last name (ie: J. Smith). Players must use the same size ball they would use in a game.
The Juggling Club has six levels of achievement which are:
Beginner - Intermediate – Advanced – Premier – ElitePlayers who reach the beginner level will have their name placed on the VSYSL website. Players who reach the intermediate level receive a jugglers club t-shirt Players who reach the advanced, premier and elite level receive patches to apply to their juggler’s club shirts or soccer bag. Players who surpass the 600 juggle level will be placed in the VSYSL Juggling Hall of Fame and receive a discount off their next seasons registration!

Hints:
1. Patterns:
It is helpful to establish a pattern with juggling and stick to the pattern. The weaker foot is always one that causes players the most difficulty. The quickest way to become a better juggler and more importantly develop a better touch is to work on the weak foot specifically. A pattern for a right footed player would be two left, one right and continue this pattern. This will be more time consuming and results are slower INITIALLY, however in a short time the player will have the ability to juggle indefinitely. Dedication and discipline are the keys here, and the dedication will pay off in the long run.
2. Goal Setting:
Set goals. The goals can be weekly, monthly, and yearly. Try to achieve a certain number of juggles by each period of time. The goals become your target. Start slow and with a reasonable goal, and your results will start to improve. Click here for a chart to help you track your progress.
